The International Institute for Peace, Justice and Human Rights (IIPJDH) is a non-governmental organization (NGO), non-profit, registered in the canton of Geneva under Articles 60ff of the Swiss Civil Code.
IIPJHR works for the promotion of Human Rights, a work of synergies and dialogues between peoples to establish Peace and Justice. It is a non-profit Swiss association with consultative status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
IIPJHR activities consist in carrying out studies related to Peace, Justice and Human Rights, in participating to specific missions and in following daily the work of the Human Rights Council.
IIPJHR works in close collaboration with the Global Network for Human Rights and Development (GNRD) and the Scandinavian Institute for Human Rights (SIHR), both established in Geneva, in order to create a new Human Rights dynamic.
ECOSOC Consultative Status
International Institute for Peace, Justice and Human Rights has received the special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and its subsidiary bodies. This allows Institute to participate in UN conferences and submit statements during the ECOSOC meetings and other UN meetings. ECOSOC is the only principal organ of the United Nations with a formal framework for NGOs participation. The full details on the commitments of NGOs with ECOSOC are in Resolution 1996/31 of 1996.
